Qualified
in 1983 with Coopers & Lybrand, now known as
PricewaterhouseCoopers. Forensic specialist with over fifteen years
experience who has been responsible for expert reports produced and evidence
adduced on
over 200 cases of litigation. Experience in personal injury work, commercial
cases, fraud investigations and matrimonial disputes, including business valuations
and investigating the financial situation of married couples and of family
businesses. Fraud
work includes fraudulent trading cases. He has given evidence in the
High Court and the Crown Court on several occasions.
Experience prior to the formation of Sim Kapila included work
for Coopers & Lybrand in developing a five-year cost reallocation model
for British Telecommunications prior to its privatization in 1984 and work
on the
House of Fraser PLC Department of Trade and Industry investigation during 1994. Also
wrote an Accountant's Digest on Government Grants published by the Institute
of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales.
Regular contributor to legal journals. Published articles
covering the forensic accountants general role, personal injury litigation,
the relevance of pensions in personal injury litigation, fatal accident claims,
the use of multipliers in personal injury litigation, matrimonial disputes,
the detection of fraud and applications for security for costs. He has
presented courses and seminars on forensic accountancy to solicitors, insurers,
law tutors
and to regional groups of Solicitors' Family Law Associations.
